Leprechaun Skills or Shamrock Luck?
Engineers and programmers build a device that could be attached to Sphero SPRK+. They worked in teams of 4 to both construct the device out of materials and program the Sphero using the Sphero EDU app for block coding.
Videos of the coded projects from all classes and teams can be viewed here using Flipgrid!

Constructing Arcade Games
Engineers designed arcade games based on specific criteria and constraints. Using recycled materials to design games was inspired by Caine's Arcade Imagination Day of Play. We used this engineering project as a way to raise money for classrooms that were impacted by Hurricane Harvey. Students could donate money to play the arcade games (though it was free to play). Take a look here to read about the full story. In total, McKinley was able to raise $426 to be donated to classroom's (from Donor's Choose) impacted from Hurricane Harvey.
